About Us

The Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK) Special Collections and Archives is a branch of the MSK Library that collects papers and artifacts documenting the history of MSK and its predecessor organizations. Though conversations about starting an Archives were evident in the early 1970s, the Archives was officially founded in 1980. Since then, the Archives has grown to house over 1,000 linear feet of materials ranging from Board minutes, photographs, research materials, and more. Feel free to explore this page to learn more about our holdings and services, and reach out if you have and questions or wish to research our materials.

Research

There are multiple ways to research our collections. A full inventory of publicly available records can be found at the MSK Archives Catalog and searched 24/7. While there is no in-person research option at this time, the Archivist is happy to review archival content for any researcher and make digital copies of material as appropriate. Contact the Archivist with further questions.

Collections

The MSK Archives houses a variety of records ranging from administrative materials to researcher records going as far back as MSK’s founding in 1884. To review our Collections Policy and learn about the type of materials stores at the MSK Archives, you can visit this page
