Need materials that aren’t immediately available in MSK Library’s electronic collection? Place a request for an item through Document Delivery Services, and we’ll search other libraries and sources to get it for you. We can also obtain scans of articles and chapters from print materials held in MSK's off-site storage. All MSK staff and students may submit requests through the Document Delivery portal (ILLiad). Things to Know

  • All MSK staff and students may use Document Delivery Services to support their work. There is no charge for users.
  • Articles and chapters are delivered electronically as PDFs. Most electronic documents can be obtained within a few business days.
  • Whole e-books cannot be borrowed from other libraries due to the nature of licensing electronic content.
  • Due to budget constraints, MSK Library's Document Delivery Services will no longer offer interlibrary book loans. As an alternative, continue to request individual chapter copies as usual or contact a Research Informationist for help identifying alternative sources.
  • The Document Delivery Services team may refuse requests if the quantity of material could be considered systematic reproduction. However, we will always work with you to try to get you what you need.

The copy law of the U.S. (Title 17 U.S. Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material. Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be "used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship or research." If a user makes a request for, or later uses a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of "fair use," that user may be liable for copyright infringement. This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgement, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law. By using MSK Library’s Document Delivery Services you expressly agree to comply with Copyright Law. Copyright also impacts the use of electronic resources. Databases, eJournals, and eBooks are subject to all terms and conditions of their license agreements and copyright provisions.
